Accepted fellows are responsible for their own travel expenses to and from DC, unless they additionally qualify for travel assistance. Fellows are provided room, board, and other program related services. All incidental costs such as personal clothing, laundry, medicine, and entertainment must be covered by the fellows themselves.
Participants can pay their program fee via Network for Good.
Depending upon the class size, MPSN spends $3,000 - $5,000 per fellow for the Summer Program. Administrative services for the year-round planning and operation of the summer program are provided almost entirely on a voluntary basis by alumni.
MPSN is funded by contributions from alumni, Islamic centers, forward-looking Muslims, and other like-minded individuals. These contributions provide the major source of funding for the Summer Program, which covers housing, meals and local transportation for participants.
In order to assist those fellows in need of financial assistance, MPSN has established a separate financial aid application. Those participants that demonstrate financial need, and whose internships are unpaid, may apply for a full or partial waiver of the MPSN program fee. MPSN strongly recommends to also seek private sponsors to assist with the cost of the program fee. All private donations that are raised to sponsor your internship will be deducted from the program fee.
Applicants can request a financial aid application before submitting their program application via email at admissions AT muslimpublicservice.org.
